From the moment that we are born we’re all simply evil. We are dangerous and we should be controlled. Or at least that’s what they think. We’re different all because of a little extra gen in our DNA. Years ago this genetic abnormality was discovered by a professor of science that specialized in the mutation of mankind. Rumors started to fly; questions were left unanswered and fear emerged all over the planet. The most important people in the main countries swiftly decided that whoever had the gen was dangerous. For the first time, prime ministers and presidents everywhere agreed, and it wasn’t long before every newborn child was tested for the abnormality. For the protection of all humanity, or so they proclaimed.
No one knew what to do with the ones that were different. They could do things that no one had ever dreamed of doing. But above all, they were dangerous and they needed to be controlled. An idea was hatched and a special unit was set up to keep these people: a place where the children could be taken and controlled. The Island was born. The children are taken when their powers start to show; they are brought to the Island, where everyone is just like them. The government tells the parents that they will be safe on the Island; they will tell them anything to make sure that there is no suspicion, no interference. Once the children arrive on the Island they feel safe, they feel at home. They go to school and they are taught to control their powers.
But there are things in this place that we don’t know about, things going on behind closed doors. They say that we are brought to the Island because the normal world wouldn’t accept us. They would fear us and we would be part of another witch hunt. How can they say that we’re safe when they just think that we are designed to be nothing but evil? Not all of us want to kill. They say that they are here to protect us. They say they’ll save us. But we’re all just living proof that The Camera’s Lying.
