The sun's rays shone down on the city Toronto with no mercy. The city was filled with hundreds of people in the lightest of clothing, from tank tops, to shorts. A few men were even walking around shirtless. Erumina, student of Harbin Academy, however, walked the streets of Toronto with a sense of style, and still keeping cool. She wore a white summer dress with fiery floral patterns stitched on it, and a pair of white flip flops to match it. Her hair was tied up into a bun, and on her wrists were large wooden bangles and bracelets. Erumina shone with happiness as she continued down the street. She had designed the dress herself.
Soon the sixteen year old reached a rather old, but fancy building. A long line of people, ranging from all ages, stood waiting to go in. Erumina smiled slightly, and took her place at the end of the line.
Some time later, Erumina stood in front of a woman who looked as if she was in her twenties. She had bleach blond hair, and one of those freakishly perfect teeth. Erumina smiled politely, and the woman smiled back. "Ticket please," she said. Erumina nodded, and produced a ticket from her white bag. She gave it to the woman, who took it and flashed another smile. "Enjoy the show!" she said. Erumina nodded. "Thanks," she replied, and walked into the theater.
The theater looked better inside than outside. The ceiling had various paintings of angels, and a chandelier hung in the middle. Erumina looked at her ticket. Her finger traced the words on the piece of paper until she found it. 7-E. Her seat. Slowly, she made her way down the steps until she reached the seventh row, and the E seat. Erumina smiled and sat down. She was getting excited. Not only did she love the songs in this musical, but she found the clothing they wore to be very interesting. Every time she watched The Sound Of Music, (and she watched it many times!) she would be surprised with what the costume designers came up with for the characters.
Erumina sighed happily and started humming a random tune, waiting for the show to start. She had fortunately been one of the earlier ones to arrive for the musical.

It was a hot day, but Winn had expected that- it was almost always hot in August. Instead of complaining about it, he simply dressed for it- brown leather flip flops (his favourite, even if the thing in the middle of his toe gave him blisters) jeans rolled up to just below his knees, a grey shirt, under a black suit jacket and some large bright green sun glasses... Oh, he knew it. He looked gay. It just wasn't something he really cared about. It was ninety percent true, anyways, so what did it matter?
Hands in his pockets, he hummed softly to himself a tune that he'd soon be hearing played back to him- one of the reasons why he loved Toronto as much as he did was that going to theatre productions was about as formal as going to the movies everywhere else- Winn didn't really enjoy getting dressed up when it was hot enough to dehydrate yourself walking down the street. The patrons could suck it- his bare legs were a little hairy, but weren't offending anyone. At least he wasn't sweating.
He jammed a hand in his back pocket as he filed into line behind an elderly couple, pulling his wallet out to make sure he still had the ticket. There it was, sitting in a pocket in front of his credit card just waiting to be ripped in half to gain him entrance... He loved going to the theatre. Of course he did- he was a theatre major. He loved plays, musicals. All of them. Well, almost all of them.
The Sound of Music wasn't a favourite, but it was one that he liked well enough, and it never got old- which was exactly why two days ago he'd decided to buy the ticket, spend his Friday night doing something he loved. Maybe one day it's be him up there. He Stood patiently behind The elderly man and woman holding hands, occasionally standing on his toes to see how far the front of the line was to him- it was a long way, but it was slowly inching forward. The two in front of him looked so happy, so content to be standing still in a long line together... It was nearing the time when the doors would close and the play would start. Wouldn't it be a shame if he missed the time?
At that thought, he became a little mote impatient- unlike the two in front of him, he was naturally restless. He didn't have his whole life behind him, he couldn't take one step at a time- especially not when the play starts in ten minutes. Nine... God Damn, he thought to himself as he sighed, peering over the many heads in front of him, glad to see that they definitely were speeding up the process... Finally, with five minutes to spare, he found himself at the front of the line, handing his ticket to the bottle blond with the white-white teeth, Smiling to him as she handing his ticket back, enjoy your show... "Thanks," he said with a soft smile, turning and taking quick, long strides into the dark theatre.
7-F... He smiled to one of the patrons, silently telling them that he knew where he was going, thank you as he slithered into the row, apologizing to all the knees he knocked on the way there... Finally, the empty seat he was looking for. Right in between a young, well-dressed couple and... "Eru!" He whispered pleasantly as the side lights of the theatre dimmed. He sat down, waving to her with a big gin on his face- this was unexpected. Conversation would have to wait for later, though, for the play was starting.

"Eru!"
Erumina was reading a thin booklet on the musical, given to her when she had entered. She was engrossed in it, and didn't notice the theater was all filled up until a familliar voice called her name. Erumina's face broke into a smile. She could recognize that voice anywhere. She turned around and faced the owner of the voice.
The lights dimmed, and Winn waved. She gave a small wave back, and then turned her attention to the stage. She had a pretty good view, since she wasn't at the way front or back, and no one tall sat in front of him.
The musical started, and Erumina smiled as the familliar character Maria appeared. Time passed by quickly, and soon the show was over. The characters all came out for a curtain call, and after a rather loud applause from the whole theater, everyone started getting ready to leave.
"Ah, that was a good show wasn't it Winn?" she said smiling brightly. Erumina stood up slowly, her legs were asleep from sitting in the same position so long. She stretched, and then let out a small yawn.

The lights dimmed, and the play began. It was a pleasant surprise, sitting next to Erumina- she was a rather good friend of his, always great to have around. He sometimes jokingly called her his girlfriend, held hands with her- Well, she really was very pretty, and (contrary to popular belief) He did like girls. His flirting didn't mean much of anything, but it was still fun, and he doubted that Eru minded- she'd rebuke with that cute grin of hers, play along. They'd done it before.
Winn settled into his seat, slouching into his chair and crossing one leg over the other- the play had begun. He watched intently as they preformed- they did a very good job of it, too. He'd never been in this play, but he knew almost every word to it- how could he not? He was sure everyone had seen at least the movie. The play just felt different, though... By the time curtains had been made into children's clothes, he'd decided that this was one of the better versions he'd seen. Great background, superb actors, the design, the music... Yes, this was a very, very good performance.
A belief that lasted all the way until the ending, until the curtain was dropped and the lights switched back on. Winn yawned, stretching his legs and bit as Eru spoke- "Ah, that was a good show wasn't it Winn?" Eagerly, Winn nodded his head in agreement. "One of the best, for sure," He grinned, getting up to stretch his arms- as he lifted them over his head, his shirt lifted up to about an inch above his belly button, revealing his thin, relatively hairless stomach. He wasn't a 'hairy' person, which didn't bother him- he wasn't an ape. He hardly even had to bother shaving his face, let alone his chest or anything. Which, according to Winn, was a very good thing indeed.
Grinning, he slipped his hand into hers as the theatre thinned out, skipping down the row and into the aisle, humming songs form the play. "Do you know what we're doing this year for the school play?" he asked- he was less of an actual question, and more the beginnings of a conversation about it. He was extremely excited for the play, but what play they were actually doing usually wasn't revealed until November. But oh, he was excited... "I hope it's something good this year. Do you think they'd let us do Spring Awakening?" He doubted it. But it was worth a try.

Erumina laughed lightly, her voice melodious, as Winn slipped his hand through hers. It was just so...Winn, and she wouldn't have it any other way. The two of them were so close, and sometimes, just for the fun of it, Winn would act as if she was his girlfriend, and she would just play along. It was pretty fun.
She smiled brightly as her friend skipped down the isles of the theater, humming tuned from the play. She shook her head, the smile still on her face, and started skipping along with him. "I'm not sure," Erumina replied when he asked if she knew what the school play was this year. "But I wish I did. I'm helping out with the costumes this year, and I would like to get a head start on them."
Erumina sighed as Winn asked about Spring Awakening. She shook her head. "I doubt it. But it would have been nice to work on clothes from that time... Plus, the actual plot is quite interesting." She smiled slightly. "But maybe they will let us do that play. You never know."
Soon Erumina reached the entrance/exit of the theater. It was early evening, and she suddenly realized that she was quite hungry. "Want to grab a bite to eat?" she asked.

Eru was probably the most adorable thing Winn had ever seen, to be honest- She was just so darn cute. Even with the constant hand-holding, cheek-kissing and playful flirting, though, he'd never actually date her. It was nothing against her- actually, probably the converse- but she wasn't really his 'type.' Most of the girls he'd ever liked ended up being rude, or promiscuous, or just simply... Undesirable. Which was probably why he chose to stick with guys most of the time.
"I'm not sure," She answered- of course she didn't. No one knew was the play was going to be until... December. It was still an interesting topic to bring up- they were both involved in the play. Eru made costume design, Winn acted in it. "But I wish I did. I'm helping out with the costumes this year, and I would like to get a head start on them." Winn giggled- "Oh, you're such an overacheiver!" he grinned, slipping through the crowd in the lobby and eventually finding their way outside- the crisp night air was a stark contrast to the humidity that had oppressed the city just hours before.
Her hand felt small in his- it was a weird sort of feeling when he was used to larger hands, covering over his own tiny palm, but not at all unwelcome- he understood the appeal of having a girlfriend, like having someone to hold made you safer. He idly wondered if that's how his old boyfriends felt with him; he wasn't going to lie, he'd always been the girl in the relationship. He was tall, sure, and many times he was older, but he still eventually found his way into the submissive role.
"I doubt it. But it would have been nice to work on clothes from that time... Plus, the actual plot is quite interesting." He nodded- "I'd love to see what you'd come up for it, too!" He loved her clothing styles- He swore he could tell an Eru product from a mile away. She just... she just had talent. "But maybe they will let us do that play. You never know." Winn shrugged- you never did know. "I'd say Hairsrpay, but I think they did it... five or six years ago. So That one's out, unfortunately... I just hope it's a musical." Which, in the end, was all that mattered to Winn- He just wanted it to be a musical. That way, he would probably get a good part- most of the actors at Harbin wanted to be in film. Oh, no, not Winn. A production without music, dancing and singing? Not his cup of tea.
They walked for a bit, talking lightly and dweeling in their own thoughts. "Want to grab a bite to eat?" Eru asked- Well, of course Winn did. "Yeah, sounds great!" he agreed- he was always hungry. He could probably eat all day, that boy; bottomless pit for a stomach and all that.

Erumina smiled, and laughed lightly, her voices like wind chimes, when Winn teased her. She shrug her shoulders. "I guess I am. I just can't help it." She laughed again, this time more quietly. Her mom had always fussed over how much she worked whenever they talked over the phone. A small grin appeared on her lips at the memory, and then she swiftly walked out of the theater along with Winn.
The temperature immediately changed when Erumina stepped onto the busy streets of Toronto. It went from the cool air of the air conditioning from the theater to the warm air of Toronto. Erumina shivered at the sudden change of temperature, but she ignored it, since Winn had started talking again.
"I'd love to see what you'd come up for it, too!" Erumina's face beamed, and she nodded enthusiastically like a little girl. She loved it when people talked about her designs, that is, if they weren't insulting them.
"I'd say Hairsrpay, but I think they did it... five or six years ago. So That one's out, unfortunately... I just hope it's a musical." A sigh escaped Erumina's lips, and she bit her lip lightly, thinking. "Maybe Phantom of the Opera? Did they do that before?" she asked.
Erumina shivered again, and she frowned. It wasn't cold or anything. She tilted her head curiously, wondering what was wrong. "Might as well take out my scarf..." she said quietly to herself, and pulled out her light brown coloured scarf using her free hand. It was a gift from her parents a few years ago, when she found out that she got into the Academy. The scarf would have been out of date to some people, but Erumina loved it. It always served as an inspiration in one way or another.
After fumbling with the scarf a bit, she turned her attention back to Winn. She smiled and nodded. "What would you like to eat?" she asked. Erumina didn't mind what Winn chose. She ate almost everything.

"I guess I am. I just can't help it." Winn grinned- of course she was. But she was so good at the shit she did- it was okay to overwork a bit when the results were... rather astounding. Winn knew for a fact that he'd be wearing her designs every damn day of his life... If he were a queen. So for now, he'd settle for just joking around... "And that's a good thing!" he grinned, swinging his arm back and forth and effectively hers- he was in a happy mood today. He'd seen a great play, he'd ended up sitting next to his favourite girl- buddy, he was about to get something to eat... All that and you could almost see some stars poking out from the city sky.
"Maybe Phantom of the Opera? Did they do that before?" Winn thought- "You know, I think they did- I remember seeing some phantom-esque props in stagecraft when I was looking for shit in there... But it was probably a while ago, because I can't remember if they did or didn't." He thought for a while, but shrugged when he came to no conclusion. "Might as well take out my scarf..." He looked over, noticing that the girl was looking a little uncomfortable... "Eru! You cold?!" He asked, releasing her hand only to pull his jacket off, grinning as he wrapped it around her thin shoulders, proud of his gentleman...ness. "there. All better."
He grinned, reaching out and petting her scarf for a moment- it looked really nice, really soft and since Winn was internally three years old he needed to touch things he thought looked pretty. He stood there smiling for a long moment, petting the thing on her neck before uttering a soft "niceee," as an ending note, slipping his hand back into hers without question and continuing on his way. "To eat... hm." He took a few extra-large steps down the sparkling sidewalk, grinning back at the girl as he tried to be silly. "I'm thinking... A cheeseburger. And a milkshake. How's abouts... OOH." He grinned, stood up a bit straighter and turned down a brightly-lit street, using the momentum from the turn to do a quick little bell hop, grinning all the way.
