Harbin Academy General School Rules
- I. Classes Students must attend all classes. If a student is sick, he or she may call his or her teachers to let them know that they will not be attending. Students are allowed up to five absences in each class before receiving punishment.
- II. Dorms Upon enrollment, students will be given a dorm suite to share with three other students of the same major. Every suite has four bedrooms, a small kitchen/living area and a bathroom. Students will not be able to switch out of their assigned dorm room unless the headmaster feels it necessary in regards to the students' safety. Students must room in the dorms. A student is allowed to bring ONE pet into the dorm, given that this pet is not dangerous and will not destroy school property.
- III. Curfew Students must be in their rooms by 9:00 PM. A student of the opposite gender is allowed in a student's dorm until 8:00 PM unless the student has been barred from such privileges. No one will be allowed outside of the dormitory buildings until 6:30 AM the next morning. Curfew on weekends is 11:00 PM. Students making excessive noise in their Dorms after curfew will be given a warning, then a detention.
- VI. Leaving Campus Students are allowed to leave campus on their own accord from 2:30 PM (After School) to 8:00PM on week days, and from 6:30 AM to 11:00PM on the week ends. Sunday, for the purposes of return times at night, considered a week day. Seniors are allowed to leave campus during their 'free period,' and a student may leave campus at any time if accompanied by a staff member.
- V. Prohibited Materials Any student found with prohibited materials (weapons, tobacco, alcohol drug paraphernalia) will be given an automatic two week suspension and will have their parents notified. The second offense is expulsion.
- VI. Electronics Students are allowed electronics in their dorms, on school grounds and in the eating hall, but they should not, under any circumstances be brought into the classrooms or theatre.
- VII. Dress Code Students are required to wear the school uniform (Black Slacks or knee-length black skirt, white button up, school blazer) during school hours. While on campus after school hours, students should be dressed modestly.
- VII. PDA excessive personal display of affection in the halls, classroom, or school grounds will not be permitted. Students should restrain themselves to holding hands and hugging until in private.
- IX. Violence and Harassment Violence and Harassment of any type WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AT HARBIN ACADEMY. To prevent unfair rulings, a thorough examination of each situation will be given and the appropriate actions given, including but not limited to detentions, suspensions, expulsions and police involvement. In every case of violence and harassment, the parents of every student involved will be notified.
